Since the world can be a grim and scary place with few oases of comfort and joy.
And, since we're not always near enough to embrace with love,
This is my prayer for you...
Firstly, the basics:
Fresh air, clean water, good food.
A safe place to sleep.
A shelter from the vicissitudes.
Proper footwear for every occasion.
And then up a level to:
Lascivious lashings of summer rain after drought.
The sparkle of sundrops on your lashes.
The intoxication of a new infant's aroma.
The ability to see. Both far and near. Micro and macro.
Next up:
Valor. Honesty. Authenticity.
The knowledge of good and evil. Discernment.
Welcoming challenges as Life's pop quizzes.
Persistence.
And, above all else:
Having the blessing of perspective.
Making connections between values and actions.
Music that elevates your soul.
Dancing joyously through to the finish line of your life.
This is my prayer for you.
Amen.
